The Rose Island Lighthouse & Fort Hamilton Trust has launched a new research initiative, From Forts to Feathers: Rose Island’s Past, Present, and Future, to uncover the island’s rich history, cultural significance, and environmental importance. The project will explore Indigenous heritage, maritime and military history, and ecological changes on the island. We’ll be collaborating with historians, archaeologists, educators, and Indigenous communities to share these stories via public exhibitions, digital content, and educational programs.
