Rose Island: in Peace and At War - Exhibition Opening ceremony
Join us on Saturday, October 11 for the opening of our newest permanent exhibition, Rose Island: In Peace and At War. The exhibit will explore Rose Island’s various uses from the 17th century to the 20th, including its defensive position in Narragansett Bay during the Revolutionary War, its use as a quarantine hospital during Newport’s cholera epidemic, and its strategic role during the World Wars. Opening remarks and the official unveiling begin at 1:00 PM, but we encourage you to come earlier to view the exhibition, enjoy the island, and make a day of it. Please email trinity@roseisland.org with any questions.
