The Rose Island Lighthouse Foundation was organized in 1984 by sympathetic citizens determined to restore the Lighthouse to its former appearance and watchful duty. After years of back-breaking labor (most of which was volunteered), the Light was joyously re-lit on August 7, 1993. Fully automated, it is once again on the charts and a proud symbol of the Foundation’s success in protecting this historic treasure, as well as the island environment surrounding it.

Your membership support is more important than ever, now that we have purchased the balance of Rose Island!   Membership support accounts for one-quarter of our annual budget. Most of all, your renewed commitment gives us the assurance that our mission to preserve the historic and environmental integrity of Rose Island, to maintain and operate its Lighthouse and to provide education and public access for all people is important to people like you. With your continued help, Rose Island will remain the jewel of the Bay for many generations to come.

Definition of Basic Membership Categories:

$ 15 - Student - For persons under 18 years of age
$ 15 - Senior  - For persons 65 and over.
$ 30 - Senior Family - For one or two senior adults and their children or grandchildren under age 18.
$ 25 - Individual - For one person.
$ 40 - Family - For one or two adults and their children or grandchildren under age 18.
$ 75 - Business - Up to 6 people who receive mailing at one business address

We try to keep our membership dues low so everyone can afford to stay informed.   Depending on your interests and needs, we offer several other ways for people to contribute additionally to support our efforts.  These include wonderful fundraising events, gift shop items, an annual campaign that supports children's school field trips to the Lighthouse, and, of course, the following "keeper" level memberships, which give you family level privileges, a current copy of the Beacon (while quantities last), and an extra dose of satisfaction for supporting such a great organization!
