ROSE ISLAND
LIGHTHOUSE FOUNDATION

Annual Appeal

It takes a community

rose island montage
Clockwise: 1) The lighthouse resorted, relit and open for public use,
2) Juvenile egrets in the wildlife refuge,
3) A school group getting a lesson in history and conservation,
4) The circa 1798 barracks building in the restoration process,
5) A keeper family enjoying the sunset,
6) The shell-strewnbeaches open for public access,
7) The first floor of the lighthouse: a living museum and overnight accommodations.

Help us light the light -
we can’t do it without you!

With your continued support we have:

  • Restored and opened the lighthouse for public use
  • Saved the island from development, maintaining it as a wildlife refuge and nesting habitat for migratory wading birds
  • Provided access and tours to over 60,000 people visiting the island
  • Taught over 27,000 children about the history and conservation of Rose Island
  • Preserved a local historical treasure

Your contribution to the annual appeal is 100% tax deductible and allows us to maintain
public access to the island and continue our education programs.

Please contribute to
The Rose Island Lighthouse Foundation!

A mile offshore and a century in the past lies "The Little Lighthouse that Could."
